HUMAN BEINGS WITH TROUBLED MINDS. By George Nsikak.

Beings with troubled minds are one of the effects of modern civilization. The strains and straits which it asserts on the mind of man.
There is a case of John Ruskin, an Oxford Professor. He was battling some imaginary devil. One night, Ruskin thought the devil was going to seize him. He was found later in the morning in a state of prostration and completely bereft of his senses. The Professor's mind was tragically disturbed.

An equal case was that of the German philosopher, F.W Nietzsche. His symptoms were different from those of Ruskin. He one day in 1888 began to talk loudly to himself. He did not allow people into his room. He said he was conducting an oratorio.
There are two kinds of madness: organic psychosis and functional psychosis. The latter is by far more serious and difficult to cure. It kind can also be called Schizophrenia. It often affects young students in colleges. The victim is usually a person of more than average intelligence. Suddenly he begins failing his examinations. Then one day he becomes excited and aggressive and accuses everyone of trying to kill him. He smiles always ti himself and hear strange voices. He is on his way to complete madness.
