#SoundOff: How Buhari’s Saudi Trip Insults The Office Of President Of Nigeria By Cheta Nwanze - Feb 25, 2016

President Muhammadu Buhari in Saudi Arabia in February 2016

I’m not quite sure we understand the indignity that our President is letting himself, and as a result, his office, to be put through. Just so you will understandthe disdainwith which the Saudis are taking his visit, he was received on arrival in Riyadh by Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, who happensto be the governor of Riyadh.

PDP Deputy National Chairman, Uche Secondus, Arrested By EFCC

Deputy NationalChairman of the People's Democratic Party, Chief Uche Secondus(m) with Chief Olisa Metuh, NationalPublicity Secretary (r) | Signal

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed that Uche Secondus, its deputy national chairman, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a statement signed by Victor Kwon, national legal adviser of the PDP, on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 the party lamented “the oppressive and unfair treatment against its key leaders by the federal government”.
“The party alerts the nation that the arrest and detention of its deputy national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is part of the grand script by the APC-led federal government to decimate the opposition,” the statement said.
“We are also aware that plans have been perfected by the federal government to arrest and detain the deputy senate president, Senator Ike Ekweremadu; senate minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio and other leaders of the party on imaginary charges.
“Indeed, intelligence available to the party shows that the federal government, using its various agencies, is bent on destroying any opposition to the ruling party as all indications show that the government is more interested in humiliating the PDP than fighting corruption.
“Finally, we state thatthiswar on the PDP and its leaders has indeed gone too far. It has now become a mockery of democratic practice.”
The arrest of Secondus follows a similar action on January 5 on Olisa Metuh, national publicity secretary of the party.
Metuh spent 23 days in detention and was released on January 28, but his trial – on a seven-count charge of money laundering and two-count charge of destruction of document – continues at the FCT high court.

From My Heart : valentine ♥ special

Empty... That's how I feel without you. Every day that we're apart Feels like an eternity. You move me... Make me feel things I thought I would never feel again.
When I am with you, I feel a warmth wash over me. A warmth unlike any I have felt before. It picks me up and carries me to a far off place, A beautiful place... A place where nothing is known but love and caring. My worries fade to a distant memory, And all but you is forgotten, If only for the moment... My heart is overflowing with joy and love, The joy that you bring to me, And the love that I feel for you. Never have I come across anyone like you... Sweet, warm, tender, caring... I become overwhelmed in your presence, lost... Lost to my imagination, to the thought of you. I'm lost in a wonderful dream, and I never want to wake up. You... You are too good to be true... My knight in shining armor. The man I've been searching for... The man of my dreams. And now I have you, Yet I cannot have you. To see you would be heavenly, To touch you, divine. I want to share my life with you... You are my waking thought And the last thing on my mind As I drift off to sleep at night. You fill my dreams with visions of happiness and love, Visions that linger on and carry me through my day. There is a longing in my heart That someday we will become a reality. I want you with every fiber of my being. I need you as I need water, or food, or air. I miss you every second of every day. And for everything that you are to me, Everything that you will ever be, I love you...

The Reason I love You : valentine ♥ special

I love you because you make me happy I love you because you make me feel safe and secure I love your smile I love the way you say my name I love the look in your eyes when you tell me you love me And how you laugh at me when I do something stupid, when others would put me down. I love the fact that when I'm around you I can be myself and not worry about what you may think of me, because I know you love me for who I am. No matter what my faults may be. I love being able to wake up with you by my side... It makes my days better At night I love watching you sleep, hearing you take each breath, and feeling your heart beat with the palm of my hand... reality hits that you are not a dream YOU ARE MINE. I love the way you wrap your arms around me and hold me really tight, like there is no tomorrow And I love the way I feel when your lips barely touch mine for a kiss, the love and emotions that go through me at that moment are unexplainable. I love your laugh I love hearing your voice I love that you get along with my family and friend, no matter how much you dislike them, or who they are. And hearing you tell me your stories, you could tell them to me a thousand times, and I will never get tired of them, because they are a part of you. But the main reason I love you is because..... Certificate forgery: Saleh dismisses Appeal Court judgment, heads to Supreme Court. By Ali Adoyi on February 8, 2016

Yuceelanda.blogspot.com.ng

Despite Monday’s judgment of the Appeal Court
that set aside the verdict of the Federal High
Court in a case brought before it by Chris
Adabah Abah, lawmaker representing Ogbadibo,
Ado and Okpokwu federal constituency, Hassan
Saleh will continue to represent the
constituency.
DAILY POST reports that the judgment was
greeted with a huge celebration by Abah’s
supporters in Ogbadibo Local Government Area.
But Hassan has dismissed the celebration,
saying such was in frivolity as the judgment
provided two options which are for him to either
approach the Supreme Court or return to the
High Court for fresh trials.
He further cleared that it implies that he would
remain on seat pending the determination of the
case at the Supreme where he will likely appeal
the judgment.
In a statement issued and signed by the reps
member, he said the Monday’s jubilation was
needless, asserting that after due consultation
with his lawyers, he has resolved to appeal the
case at the Supreme Court.
The statement below:
‘’My attention has been drawn to the needless
jubilations and its attendant public disturbances
in Ogbadibo Local Government Area by some
supporters of my opponent over the ‘black
market’ judgment secured at the Court of Appeal
earlier today.
‘’It is also very pertinent to address the
misinformation and misrepresentation of the
decision of the Court of Appeal.
‘’For the records, my opponent, Chris Adaba
Abbah whose election was nullified by the
Federal High Court, Abuja, on the premises of
certificate forgery and perjury approached the
court of Appeal to set aside the decision of the
lower court and allow a retrial, which was
resolved in his favour.
‘’The court of Appeal couldn’t have exonerated
him of certificate forgery and perjury which are
the nucleus of the matter. What the ruling of
Appellant court has done today is to leave us
with two options of either appealing against the
judgment or go back to the Federal High Court
for a fresh trial.
‘’I have duly consulted my team of Lawyers and
in no time, we shall approach the Supreme Court
and appeal against the decision of the Court of
Appeal, which is alien to any legal authority in
Nigeria and all over the world.
‘’It is a miscarriage of justice and with God on
our side, we shall triumph and remain victorious.
‘’I, therefore, urge my teeming supporters and
respected constituents to remain calm and law
abiding. We should rather remain focused and
committed to the course of justice. I am still a
Member of the House of Representatives and it
shall remain so by the power of God.

Judge Dismisses TB Joshua’s Application To Stop Trial Over Building Collapse. By Wires | The Trent

Prophet T.B. Joshua (Photo Credit: Synagogue
Church of All Nations)

by Nosa Osazuwa
On Monday 8th February 2016, Justice Lawal-
Akapo of the Lagos High Court dismissed the
application of The Synagogue, Church Of All
Nations (SCOAN) engineers to forestall trial
pending the outcome of an appeal they had
earlier submitted.
This comes on the heels of the Lagos State
government, through its Attorney General,
admitting to committing a judicial slip by
predicating its legal action against the engineers
on the coroner’s verdict of 2015.
Fundamental issues raised in the judicial review
by The SCOAN lawyers included a prayer seeking
to determine whether or not the Magistrate
Oyetade Komolafe-led coroner’s inquest was a
creation of law.

It would be recalled that while delivering his
verdict on the coroner’s inquest, Magistrate
Oyetade Komolafe ruled that Alimosho Coroner’s
District was a creation of law despite a careful
review of the Lagos State Coroner’s system
revealing no such district existed
The legal implications of this include all the
recommendations of the controversial coroner
amounting to a nullity in law.
Even though the Lagos State Government agreed
through its Attorney General and Commissioner
for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem, to have
committed a legal error, it has not apologised or
withdrawn the case against the engineers.
“The ruling of Justice Alogba dismissing the
application of the engineers amounts to an
infringement on their rights to fair hearing,” a
lawyer told newsmen outside the court premises.
Justice Akapo fixed February 18, 2016 for the
continuation of the trial.
It would be recalled that The SCOAN has
persistently maintained its stance that the
collapse was as a result of sabotage while the
Lagos State Government declared structural
failure was behind the tragedy.

during the court hearing

Sultan urges Muslim, Christian clerics to always tell leaders the truth By Daily Post Staff

Yuceelanda.blogspot.com.ng.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III,
has admonished Muslim and Christian Clerics in
the country to always tell leaders the truth.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that
Abubakar spoke on Sunday in Tsamiya village in
Tureta Local Government Area of Sokoto State
when he inaugurated an Islamiya School
constructed by an indigene of the village who
wants to be anonymous.
Abubakar said: “Religious leaders should tell us
the truth.
“We should be told when we do the right thing
and we should be told when we go astray.
“This is better for us as such efforts should
guide us, rather than praise singing to us and
sycophancy.”
Abubakar also appealed to parents across the
country to endeavour to enrol their children in
schools at all levels.
He said: “Education is the best legacy we can
bequeath to our children and wards.
“It is also only with education that any society
can develop and without it, there will be no any
meaningful development.”
The monarch also commended the state
government for according top priority to the
education sector.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who was represented
by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof.
Bashir Garba, said his administration would
continue to accord priority attention to the
education sector.

Insurgency: 90 per cent of displaced persons in Adamawa back home – Officials By Daily Post Staff on February 7, 2016

Yuceelanda.com

Mr Haruna Furo, Secretary, Adamawa State
Emergency Management Agency, said on Sunday
that about 90 per cent of Internally Displaced
Persons in the various camps in the state had
returned home.
Furo, who disclosed this in an interview with the
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola, said the
affected persons were from seven local
government areas of the state.
“Following recapturing of the areas and return of
normalcy, about 90 per cent of the displaced
persons in the camps have left.
“The displaced persons that remain in the camps
are those whose villages are at the fringes of
Sambisa, who felt it is still not safe to go back
home,’’ Furo said.
Also an official of the National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA) in the state, Sa’ad
Bello, told NAN that the displaced persons that
remained at the camps were those recently
evacuated from Cameroon.
“With the return of peace in parts of the North
East, many displaced persons have left the
camps on their own; we assisted some of them
with food and transport to go back home,” Bello
said.
He said not more than 10,000 of the 30,000
affected persons were still at the camps, adding
that most of them were from Borno.
Bello said some of the displaced persons were
however staying with their relations and friends.
He said that NEMA in collaboration with the
state government and other international
organisations, have been working to put some
basic things, such as hospitals and schools in
place for the returnees.
“We are providing the returnees with little
support, while resettlement and rehabilitation of
the affected villages will be handled by the
Presidential Committee,” Bello said.
NAN recalls that the Adamawa House of
Assembly had passed a bill establishing the State
Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Agency.
The agency to be funded by the state
government, would reconstruct damaged
facilities and residential houses in Madagali,
Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Maiha, Hong
and Gombi.
The bill, sponsored by Mallam Hassan Barguma
(APC-Hong) was aimed at alleviating the
suffering of the affected communities. (NAN)

Ugwuanyi moves against fuel racketeers in Enugu, dissolves monitoring team, By Ameh Comrade Godwin

Yuceelanda.com

In a bid to maintain his administration’s
commitment to the welfare of the people, zero
tolerance to impunity and other forms of
irregularities undermining the progress of the
state, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State
during the weekend ordered the immediate
dissolution of the State’s Petroleum Products
Monitoring Team (PPMT).
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to
the Governor on Media, Louis Amoke, stated that
the dissolution order was contained in a letter
signed by the Secretary to the Enugu State
Government, G. O. C Ajah.
Amoke quoted the Secretary to the State
Government as saying that the action was
“following persistent complaints over the
unauthorized activities of the Petroleum
Products Monitoring Team (PPMT) and in
keeping with Government’s zero tolerance to
impunity as well as the governor’s promise to
administer the state selflessly and with the fear
of God at all times.”
The letter which disclosed that the team will be
reconstituted in due course, advised Petroleum
Marketers in the State to desist from engaging in
illegal activities and ensure that they run their
businesses within the confines of the extant
laws of Enugu State.
It added that government will not hesitate to
bring to book, any marketer found to be
operating outside the law, stressing that the
governor was committed to a smooth and
transparent petroleum products marketing
operation in the state.
It would be recalled that Governor Ugwuanyi had
recently constituted the now dissolved team to
monitor diversion of petroleum products and
regulate prices of the products in the state in
line with the Federal Government’s approved
pump prices.

‘Dasuki To Face Fresh Charges Over 1994 Millitary Charge’ – Yahoo News! by Emmanuel Lala

Yuceelanda.com

Abuja (AFP) – Nigeria’s former national security
advisor remains in custody as he is under
investigation for alleged offences committed
decades ago when he was an army officer, a
state prosecutor said Thursday.
Sambo Dasuki is already facing three trials with
a slew of charges in connection with looting
billions of dollars that were supposed to go
towards fighting Boko Haram Islamists.
He is one of just 55 people the Nigerian
government claims stole more than $6 billion
between 2006 and 2013, leaving Africa’s biggest
economy reeling in the wake of the global oil
price plunge.
But despite being granted bail in December,
Dasuki has been kept in custody by Nigeria’s
intelligence agency, the Department of State
Services (DSS), without access to his legal
counsel.
Prosecutor Rotimi Jacobs told an Abuja court
that Dasuki was rearrested because the
government is investigating an “alleged breach of
service law” when he was serving as a colonel in
the army before his retirement in 1994.
Defence lawyer Joseph Daudu said Dasuki — a
powerful member of former president Goodluck
Jonathan’s administration — is being denied the
right to a fair trial and that all three cases
against him should be dismissed.

“There’s really no way he can get a fair trial in
the circumstances,” Daudu said to AFP, vowing
if necessary to take the matter to the Supreme
Court.
Dasuki is rumoured to have arrested
Muhammadu Buhari at gunpoint when he was
overthrown in a 1985 coup after serving nearly
two years as head of a military government.
Daudu said that Dasuki will neither “confirm or
deny” that rumour, but added there is “no love
lost” between his client and Buhari, now
Nigeria’s elected president.
Political analyst Chris Ngwodo said that far from
settling old grievances, the ultimate reason for
Dasuki’s continued incarceration is that the
government is struggling to stitch together its
case against him.
“What is the most important thing for them is for
him to be in custody, they do not want to make
him free,” Ngwodo said.
“So they are resorting to somewhat underhanded
tactics,” Ngwodo said. “What they will keep doing
is finding fresh ways of holding him in custody
until they can fine tune their case.”

How Lai Mohammed, Mo Abudu and Nigerian Entertainers embarrassed each other at Southern Sun Hotel meeting

Yuceelanda.com

The meeting began with exchange of
pleasantries; hugs and handshakes, friendly
gestures and smiles. As the folks settled down,
the Honourable Minister for Information gave a
brief remark on what the agenda for the meeting
was, seeking their buy in for what he called the
new change mantra “it begins with me” He also
informed that campaign which is like the War
against Indiscipline will be launched on the 15th
of March, 2016 by President Muhammadu
Buhari.
Lai Mohammed said the ‘Change Begins with Me’
campaign and the South African consulting firm
handling the project had produced a theme song
for the campaign already but he had changed his
mind based on the advise he got from Mo Abudu,
the CEO of Ebony Life TV who facilitated the
meeting on the need to get the Nigerian top
entertainment industry acts to ‘Jazz it up’
referring to the theme song.
Some of the artistes present who had sensed
that the campaign is a National project of great
importance which they have to key into
immediately requested for the theme song.
However the theme song was not presented by
neither the Minister, the South African consulting
company nor the Facilitator. The Artistes started
saying that there was truly no theme song
indirectly accusing the Minister of telling a lie.
Mo Abudu, the facilitator quickly intervened and
said ‘theme song or no theme song, the essence
of the meeting was to come up with a theme
song that will be befitting’.
Lai Mohammed then asked the artistes to come
up with a theme song before the launch of the
Campaign and Mavin Records owner and award
winning producer Don jazzy was mandated to
lead the assignment.
DonJazzy however told the Minister that due to
the time frame which is 45 days from the day of
the meeting, that he will not be able to handle
that and suggested the that the project was
assigned to legendary producer Cobhams.
The Minister, Lai Mohammed insisted that he
cannot push the launch date further and it was
either the Artistes agree to do it or forget it.
This comment was said to have infuriated rap
artiste Jude Abaga aka MI, who told the minister
that he was being very disrespectful and
grandstanding saying that the mere fact that he
brought a South African company to boss a
strategic project to Nigeria was a slap on the
face of the Industry.
Several other artistes backed MI’s position and
the Minister of Information Lai Mohammed did
not give a damn. Contrary to the pictures, the
event was a waste of time as no deal concerning
the theme song was struck between the
Entertainers and the Minister of Information. As
a matter of fact everyone in the meeting left
with the slogan ‘Jazz it Up’ making mockery of
the phrase Lai Mohammed had earlier used.
Present at the meeting were; Kwam 1, KSA, Don
Jazzy, MI, Supreme Mavin Dynasty, Chocolate
City, Tiwa Savage, P-Square, Jude Okoye, staff of
the Ministry of Information and consultants were
present at the meeting.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Nigeria’s Minister of
Information and Culture held on the 24th of
January an interaction with Nigerian Entertainers
and stakeholders at the Southern Sun Hotel in
Lagos. Contrary to the photos in the media, the
meeting was an embarrassment and a waste of
time. Read the account of what happened from an

because of the number of Nigerians in prisons all
over the world accused of drug trafficking or
human trafficking,” Buhari told The Telegraph.
“I don’t think Nigerians have anybody to blame.
They can remain at home, where their services
are required to rebuild the country.”

Nigerians have taken to social media websites to
express outrage at a leader of the country
demarketing Nigerians abroad. On Twitter, the
hashtag #NigeriansAreNotCriminals began to
trend after political leaders and citizens took to
the micro-blogging website to condemn President
Buhari for talking down to the citizens of the
country while speaking with foreign press.

Election Verdicts: Who Paid TMG To Disparage Nigeria’s Supreme Court Justices?... By News Release - Feb 7, 2016

Yuceelanda.com

It was with great shock that we read the
inglorious reaction of the Transition Monitoring
Group’s (TMG) to the verdicts of the Supreme
Court on the Akwa Ibom and Rivers States
election matters. The words used by the body in
describing the judgements and judges betray the
fact that this has always been a group set up by
desperate politicians to masquerade as
independent election observers while doing the
infamous bidding of their paymasters.
This is not surprising. Coming just very few days
after the national chairman of APC called for the
probe of the Supreme Court Justices over the
same issue, we do not need to look too far to
know who the sponsors of the so-called
“Transition Maligning Group” are.
To say that the Supreme Court judgements are
“clear cut attempts at legalising electoral
robberies”, is the most uncharitable thing anyone
or group could say about the Supreme Court.
What the TMG fails to understand is that unlike
their sponsors who are so desperate to “capture”
the oil-rich states especially, that they would do
anything including harassment, intimidation and
alleged attempt at bribing the honourable
justices, the Supreme Court justices are men of
integrity, fearless in their endeavours, audacious
in the dispensation of justice and unrelenting in
remaining the last hope of the common man and
the oppressed. The joy that greeted those
judgements across the nation is an eloquent
testimony to the fact that the honourable
justices are in tandem with realities in the land
and the law.
TMG should not think that everybody
condescends so low as to pervert justice like
they do in their analysis of justice dispensation
just because they live off the crumbs that fall
from their masters’ tables. One wonders where
groups like this were when the Supreme Court
upheld the elections of Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun
State, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State and even that
of Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State among many
others.
The statement by TMG smacks of recalcitrance
coupled with excessive exuberance and political
rascality taken too far. These attempts by APC,
their leaders and foot soldiers, to continue to
intimidate, insult, disparage and calumniate our
judiciary are absolutely unacceptable. One
wonders why TMG is so particular about Rivers
and Akwa Ibom States? Does this obsessive
concern for these states even as earlier
expressed by Oyegun not justify our position that
TMG has sold its soul to the devil?
Our organisation with over 500,000 members
nationwide is, however, consoled that no matter
the level of political brigandage exhibited by
insolent groups like the TMG, our courts shall
continue to remain the last hope of the common
man and the bastion of justice. We are most
glad that the justices of the apex court are
neither swayed by the archaic antics of groups
like TMG nor are they going to ever succumb to
their subtle threats.
Thank you.

Guardiola makes Suarez top target ahead of Manchester City move, By Ifreke Inyang on February 7, 2016

Yuceelanda.com

Pep Guardiola has made Luis Suarez his top
target, as he prepares to take charge of
Manchester City in the summer.
Although the Spaniard is still manager at Bayern
Munich, he is already looking at players that will
help him transform the squad he will inherit from
Manuel Pellegrini.
Suarez is part of a fearsome attacking trio at
Barcelona, which includes Lionel Messi and
Neymar, but the striker is represented by
Guardiola’s brother, Pere and it is believed a deal
can be done.
The Uruguyan moved to Nou Camp two years
ago for a fee around £75m from Liverpool, after
Arsenal failed with a £40,000,0001 bid a year
before.
Guardiola will be given a blank cheque by City
owners to rebuild the team. And he is ready to
sanction on a raid on his former club for the
player, whose blend of technique and aggression
he admires.

Buhari Threatens Aso Rock Staff Following Leak That His Trip To UK Is Medical, By Ephraim Adiele

Yuceelanda.com

President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly
lashed out at the staff at the Presidential Villa
after news that he would be visiting doctors in
the UK as part of his week-long European trip
which he is to embark upon on Wednesday,
February 3, 2016.

According to a source within the Presidency who
spoke to Sahara Reporters, President Buhari will
undertake a visit to medical doctors in a London
hospital.
The schedule of Buhari’s trips has it that the
President is to meet with Syrian officials in the
UK, but the source availed that President Buhari
agreed to participate in the Syrian event because
it provides a perfect cover for the medical visit
as he did not want it known in public parlance
that he was had taken ill less than a year after
assuming office.
It would be recalled that following the six-week
postponement of the presidential election, the
then President-elect spent a prolonged period in
London, reportedly to rest. He subsequently
spent another nine days in London to meet with
his doctors, returning only one day before his
inauguration.
Following the report exposing the President’s
plan to use the Syrian meeting a cover for
medical check-ups in the UK, President Buhari
was said to have lashed out angrily at members
of staff at the Villa, threatening to sack whoever
is found guilty of leaking State House information
to newsmen.
In a related development, President Buhari’s
Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari on Monday, February 1,
2016 issued a stern warning to Aso Rock staff,
telling them not to leak information or
documents from the villa.
Speaking a send forth programme organised for
some officials who retired recently or redeployed
from his office, Kyari said a document which
was signed by him had illegally found its way out
of his office.
He said, “One thing we cannot tolerate is letters
and information going out of this office. I have
seen one with my signature shown to me.
“I do not know who was responsible for that; I do
not know why anyone should do that; but please
make sure that such a thing does not happen.
“Anything that is written will come out anyway; it
is not a secret; but the bad thing is for it to
come out before it is publicly made by the
relevant authorities.
“So, please do not fall into this trap of somebody
asking you to bring a letter, because if by
accident you are found or the letter traced to
you, clearly it would not be something that we
would tolerate.”

Bad Luck: ‘I Wonder, Why Me? Why Now’ – Buhari Laments Poor Economy (DETAILS) By Doyin Ajayi

Yuceelanda.com

“Why me?”
President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed
frustrations with dwindling oil prices and the
collapsing economy, yet again, in a meeting with
Nigerians living in the United Kingdom.
According to Punch, the President made this
disclosure while speaking in a town hall meeting
on February, 5, 2016 in London. “Why didn’t I
come when the treasury was full? Oil price was
over $140 per barrel and when I came, it slipped
down to $30. Why me?”, Buhari told the Nigerian
community in the UK.
Buhari wondered why he didn’t become President
when the country was bouyant. He also lamented
that he was now at the helm when oil prices
reached record low. He, however, failed to say
what programmes he would implement if he did
have funds to do it.
Despite the downturn of the economy since he
came to power, Buhari expressed faith in God,
but fell short of explaining the policies he
intends to use in removing Nigeria from its
current downward spiral.
“With the problems we have in this government, I
sometimes wonder. At least, this time around, I
asked for it, I prayed for it, I went round the
country and I asked for it. But the first time
under the military, I allowed the military to take
decision.
“But I say why me? Why is it that it is when they
have spent all the money, when they made the
country insecure that I returned?
“Why didn’t I come when the treasury was full?
Oil price was over $140 per barrel and when I
came, it slipped down to $30. Why me?
“I keep on praying to God to pity Nigeria and its
over 170 million people who are exposed to
climate change, illiteracy and poverty.”
Buhari claims that the Treasury Single Account
(TSA) programme had helped the government to
mop up N2.2 trillion. The programme which was
introduced by the government of Goodluck
Jonathan was being implemented gradually to
avoid shocks to the economy.
On assumption of office, Buhari ordered a total
implementation of the TSA which withdraws
government funds from the commercial banks
and domiciles it with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The full implementation of TSA, experts say, is
partly responsible for Nigeria’s crashing economy
as the banks are no longer able to support
businesses.
Buhari took a swipe as Jonathan by saying he
did not know why the TSA was not implemented.
But, it was implemented in phases by Jonathan’s
government.
“You know the condition we are in now. I am
sure with demands from home, in spite of what
your effort is, you know we are really in trouble.
“We have tried to impose what we call Treasury
Single Account. The reason is simple. This
government did not initiate it; it was initiated by
the previous government. But it was so
unpopular to the bureaucracy, so the previous
government for its own reasons, could not
impose it.
“But when we came and we found out that we
were broke, we said this is the way to do it.
“I will tell you two examples to convince you.
Firstly, the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation had more than 45 accounts. Ministry
of Defence had more than 70 accounts. Tell me
which Accountant-General can trace all these
accounts?
“So, we imposed TSA. By the end of December,
coming to January 2016, we mopped up more
than N2.2trn which would have been used
through bureaucratic system to raise vouchers
and sign cheques so that they don’t go into the
next budget.”
Buhari also alluded to foreign interference in
Nigeria’s electoral process by the government of
the United States of America and the United
Kingdom. He claimed that the US government
“read the riot act” to the previous government
before the last election in MArch 2015 which
saw him emerge as winner.
“Then we insisted that election must be done
according to the constitution.
“At this point again, I must hasten to thank the
United States for sending the Secretary of State,
Kerry, to go and read the riot act to the previous
government and speak to Prof. Jega, the
Chairman of INEC and speak to us as opposition
that the US would not tolerate any election
outside the Nigerian constitution.
“They maintained the pressure from that date
until after the election and the formation of the
new government.
“I think Nigerians honestly should thank the US
for this. The same thing with Britain, they used
all their experience and their powers to make
sure that the Federal Government did not rig the
last election.
“We thank God, we thank these super powers
and we thank technology. Why we thank
technology is because of the permanent voter
cards and the card readers.”
Buhari is officially on a 5-day leave, while away
from the country, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo
would be acting president.

Home Eagles yet to get CHAN bonuses, allowances, By Ifreke Inyang on February 7, 2016

Yuceelanda.com

Home-based Super Eagles players have not been
paid their bonuses and camp allowances after
they were eliminated from the African Nations
Championship in Rwanda.
Nigeria lost their last group game 1-0 against
Guinea and exited the competition at the first
stage.
Head coach, Sunday Oliseh, blamed their
unimpressive outing on lack of motivation and up
till now, the players are still waiting for the
monies to be paid.
“We have not been paid our bonuses and
allowances,” a member of the squad disclosed to
Completesportsnigeria.com on the condition of
anonymity.
“They (the officials) requested that we submit
our account numbers before we left Kigali, but
we have not heard from them since we came
back.
“We are not happy with the situation as nobody
has deemed it fit to contact us and inform us on
the true picture of things.
“You can imagine us staying in camp all through
December in Abuja and then to South Africa
without having anything to show for it.
“Most of us arrived in Nigeria with nothing to
give to our families.”

football loving Nigerians a league they will

Dakuku’s Prayers To Baal: The Spirit Of Judas And APC Fundamentalism (READ) By Oraye St Franklyn - Feb 6, 2016

Yuceelanda.com

The defeated All Progressives Congress (APC)
Governorship candidate for Rivers State in the
2015 General Elections, Mr. Dakuku Peterside
was widely reported in the media to have visited
Chief John Oyegun, the Party’s National
Chairman along with some party faithfuls from
the State, whom he described as orphans, to
decry their abandonment by the Party hierarchy.
In the said visit, Mr. Peterside, made veiled
allusions to the displeasure of the depleting APC
fold in Rivers State in being abandoned after its
monumental financial contributions to the Party
in the last General Election.
The Governorship candidate also called on the
invocation of the proverbial Federal might to
enable the APC win all the Legislative seats it
may have armtwisted the Elections Petitions
Tribunal to unjustly nullify against known legal
principles.
According to Dakuku, “We have 22 seats in a
House of 32-man membership. Winning all 22
seats will give us 23 seats and that will enable
us produce the Speaker of the House.
“Presently, the Party does not have a two-third
majority in any of the chambers of the National
Assembly…Now the opportunity to up the party’s
numbers in these chambers has come and WE
EXPECT THAT THE PARTY WILL DO ALL THAT
IT TAKES TO WIN ALL 12 House of
Representatives and 3 Senate Seats.”
That Dakuku Peterside wants a Party lacking
leadership and direction; one that has shown a
clear disdain for the people of Rivers State and
indeed the South of Nigeria and is ruining
Nigeria’s economy, to DO ALL IT TAKES TO WIN
in Rivers irrespective of its unpopularity in the
State, surely justifies why he also said, “We are
called all sorts of names including being branded
as traitors and almost live like outcast in our
communities and environments…”, as only
traitors will stop at nothing to see their people
impoverished and enslaved.
One even wonders how a Party which
acknowledges to being polularly referred to as
outcasts can command a legitimate victory in
any election in such an environment. This is why
Dakuku’s visit and prayer to Baal, the authority
that wishes to command unquestionable
obeisance from all Nigerian citizens and
institutions, is against the people of Rivers State
and the security of the future of their children’s
children.
In the said meeting, Oyegun decried the Party’s
loss of oil-rich states like Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta
and Akwa Ibom and intimated on the probe, and
perhaps likely prosecution, of Supreme Court
Justices for delivering judgments against the
APC.
One wonders what other proof does any Nigerian
of South South extraction need to conclude that
the interest of the APC was the oil wealth of the
region, which it intends to stop at nothing with
the help of people like Dakuku to possess and
mine for the sole benefit of exclusionists and
fundamentalists. Why then does Dakuku
Peterside decry the tag of being a Judas and an
outcast? Does he expect to stand against the
legitimate aspirations of a people and not attract
that ire and wrath?
Dakuku Peterside also prayed Baal to, among
other things:
– Purge of vestiges of and sympathisers for the
immediate-past federal government
administration in the leadership of Security
agencies, especially in the Police and Nigeria
Security and Civil Defence Corps and demanded
– That political appointments in all Federal
government Ministries, Departments and
Agencies including ambassadorial positions be
made to reflect the current realities of a change
of government.
Then he pleaded for an appointment with the
high priest himself; raising eyebrows and strong
doubts to claims that the misappropriation of the
commonwealth of Rivers State to the APC had
secured a prime position for the State in the
Party. That appeared not to be the case with the
appeal for an appointment to see the high priest.
What could be more condescending to the Rivers
man than this? After funding a Presidential
election and betraying our own, they are begging
for access? Is it not time for Dakuku to cut the
crap and redeem himself? Since when has the
Rivers man gone cap in hand abegging to those
he feeds?
One would have thought that Dakuku Peterside
would take on the olive branch extended by
Governor Wike of Rivers State and team up to
build a better State. But it does appear that that
will not be the case as the APC is hellbent on
possessing Rivers State and as such will be dealt
a defining blow on March 19, 2016. Nothing will
be more appropriate.
All Rivers people and residents are on the same
page on the fact that the State will not be a
cashcow for the enslavement of our people by
fundamentalists.

Leaked Military Video Is Damning Evidence Of Genocide Against Shi’ites [GRAPHIC] By Abdul Jummai | Staff Writer - Feb 6, 2016

Yuceelanda.com

A new video has surfaced on LiveLeak showing
the aftermath of the Nigerian Army invasion of
the Shi’ite compound in Zaria, Kaduna in
December 2015.
The person who uploaded the video on the social
media website said it was recorded by the
Nigerian Army and was apparently leaked.
The disturbing video which is graphic in nature
shows dead bodies littered across the compound.
See below the notes to the video.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur
Yusuf Buratai making remarks after receiving the
report | Nigerian Army Photo
A military source provided us this video of the
recent Zaria massacre in Nigeria.
Between December 12th and the 16th, the Nigerian
army under command of General T.Y. Buratai
responded to a stick and stone wielding protest of
irate Islamic Movement youth by killing all those
blocking the road then going further to kill all in
the movement’s Islamic Center and then on again
to kill all the members at the leader, Sheikh
Zakzaky’s residence in Gyellesu and then to kill
more at the movement’s Darul Rahma burial
ground.
Bombs and RPGs were used on these youth in the
urban city location. The people were shot and then
burned and the buildings were demolished.
Graves of the Shia Muslims were further exhumed
and the bodies discarded in what would be praised
by the Saudi Arabia government as the right
approach to dealing with a minority Muslim
population it regards as the enemy.
This video displays the aftermath of the army
campaign on the residence of leader Zakzaky
where he was arrested loaded with 6 bullets, was
beaten and had his eyes busted and then dragged
on his behind before he was detained
incommunicado till date.
While the Nigerian army officially said only 7
Muslims were killed, the movement reports that
least 1000 were killed, many carted away and
buried in mass graves and a list of 705 missing
has been released to the public. ABU hospital
records showed 295 bodies deposited at their
location alone.
Human rights Watch reported it found evidence of
at least 300 killed and that many were mass buried
by the army without documentation. Hundreds were
also injured to various degrees and others
arrested.

TYRANNY: EFCC Arrests SAN Ricky Tarfa For Defending His Client By Ekemini Ekwere | Staff Writer - Feb 6, 2016

Yuceelanda.com

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
(EFCC) on Friday, February 5, 2016 arrested a
top Nigerian lawyer and Senior Advocate of
Nigeria (SAN), Ricky Tarfa for performing his
constitutional duties by defending his client,
Granhoue Sourou Nazaire.
Tarfa acting on the orders of his client, sought a
court order preventing Nazaire’s arrest by the
anti-graft agency. EFCC agents had reportedly
laid an ambush for Nazaire in a Lagos Court in
order to take him by surprise. But Tarfa got wind
of the plot and tried to get a judge to issue an
order barring the EFCC from arresting his client.
Sahara Reporters says that Tarfa has been in
EFCC detention since he was arrested by irate
agents of the commission.
Nazaire is a businessman from the Republic of
Benin.
This action against a lawyer is one more in a
long string of despotic actions by security
agencies under President Muhammadu Buhari.
There has been a consistent attempt to
intimidate the judiciary and lawyers under Buhari
who has declared that he only obeys court
orders when they are in line with his personal
beliefs. He had called on lawyers not to defend
clients with corruption cases at the conference
of the Nigerian Bar Association held in 2015.
This week, the national chairman of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) chairman, Chief
John Odigie-Oyegun called for a probe of the
Supreme Court justices following their rulings on
election petitions this week. The decisions were
in favour of the main opposition party, the
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers, Akwa
Ibom, Delta, Abia, and Taraba. The apex court
ruled in favour of the APC in Lagos, Oyo, and
Ogun States as well.

Shocking Revelations By Military Service Chiefs At Secret Briefing Exposed (DETAILS) By News Release - Feb 6, 2016

Yuceelanda.com

Against the backdrop of recent deadly attacks
carried out in some towns in Borno State by
Boko Haram, the nation’s Service Chiefs have
opened up to the leadership of the Senate why
they have been unable to successfully prosecute
the insurgency war.
They complained of lack of funds to buy
equipment and also, lamented the failure of the
Federal Government to release funds
appropriated for the prosecution of war in the
2015 budget.
These factors were revealed to the Senate
leadership and disclosed by the office of Senate
President, Dr. Bukola Saraki in a statement
yesterday. The closed-door meeting between the
service chiefs and top senators, which lasted for
about two hours on Wednesday was presided
over by the Senate President.
Saraki said several issues tailored at further
empowering the security agencies to win the war
against Boko Haram were discussed in a frank
and open exchange between the two sides.
The military chiefs, led by the Chief of Defence
Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, reportedly
briefed the lawmakers on the various challenges
faced by the military, particularly the state of
their equipment which they said required serious
upgrading and restocking.
“They also complained that their vote in the 2015
supplementary budget has not been released
thereby hampering their ability to fund their
operations. Other issues that came up for
discussion were the need to continuously
increase the personnel in the three branches of
the military and the hindrance posed by the
procurement process which they said is very
slow,” Saraki stated in the statement.
“The military chiefs also canvassed the need for
the review of some laws governing their
operations so as to make them able to respond
to emergency situations they now confront in the
North-east zone as well as conform with global
best practices,” he further noted.
The need for regional support for the fight
against insurgency in the North-East by the
neighbouring countries, resettlement of Internally
Displaced Persons (IDPs) back to their traditional
homes, the issue of intelligence gathering and
sharing among the various agencies and
mobilisation of the international community,
particularly through inter-parliamentary efforts in
support of the fight against terrorism in Nigeria,
were also discussed during the meeting.
The Senators assured the military chiefs that
they will fast track the request for the review of
the relevant laws being complained about by
putting them on the Priority Bills list once they
were given adequate information on areas that
need to be amended.
They also promised to take up the issue of
release of funds raised by the military chiefs
with the Ministry of Finance immediately.
Committees on Defence, Finance and
Appropriations have also been mandated to
ensure that the issues raised by the service
chiefs are taken care of in the budget.
The Senators noted that at this point when the
nation had recorded serious gains in the fight
against insurgency, all hands should be on deck
to sustain the tempo against the violent groups.
The meeting was particularly attended by Saraki,
his deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Senate
Leader, Ali Ndume, Deputy Majority Whip, Francis
Alimikhena, Chairman, Senate Committee on
Navy, Isa Hamma Misau and his colleague in the
Committee on Air Force, Duro Faseyi. However,
Chairman of Senate Committee on Defence,
Senator Ahmed Lawan was absent.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Olonishakin
led the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur
Buratai, his colleague in the Navy, Vice Admiral
Ibok-Ette Ibas and the Air Force, Air Marshal
Sadiq Abubakar to the meeting.

This letter has
become absolutely necessary owing to your
recent political activities which are causing the
Church huge embarrassment. As a Catholic
myself, I, as other Catholics, are now forced to
bear the shame of your recent activities and
asked questions about the transfer policies of
the Church which ordinarily should not have
caused any public inquisition if you had not
caused it to be so.
Fr, it is unfortunate that as a priest of the
Catholic Church, you have allowed your emotions
to take you beyond your allowed limits in
partisan politics before, during, and after the last
elections.
Pray, what is in a transfer of a priest in the
Catholic Church? You were transferred from one
parish to another, an exercise that is a normal
routine in the Church, and instead of you to
move quickly and quietly as expected, you
caused a whole lot of needless hullaballoo and in
an attempt to curry public sympathy, made your
transfer look like anything but usual in the
Church. The razzmatazz and revelry that graced
your movement to your new parish is alien to the
Church! You are gradually eroding the very fabric
that makes the Catholic Church unique and
uncommon among others.
Were you the only priest transferred? Why did
other priests not cry to the public about their
own transfers? Did you reach an agreement with
the Church on the day of your ordination that you
should be exempted from transfers? Fr, you need
not be reminded that you are a priest of the
Catholic Church and not a pastor of any other
denomination. It is no longer news that priests of
the Catholic Church do not belong to themselves
but to the Church wholly, fully and entirely,
hence, you took an oath of not only obedience to
your Local Ordinary, the Bishop, but your oath
also included that of poverty. So, the Bishop
exercises his prerogative to transfer any priest
serving under him to areas where their services
are most needed among other considerations.
Just like you were transferred from somewhere
else to Christ the King Parish, GRA, Enugu, you
have also been transferred to Our Lady Parish,
Umuchigbo, Njinike also in Enugu.
It would be ignorant of me to think that you
actually thought Christ the King Parish, GRA
Enugu would be your parish forever. No priest of
the Catholic Church would ever think a particular
posting of his would last for too long. For
example, in Abuja Archdiocese from where I
write you this letter, there are brother-priests of
yours who have been transferred from the
highbrow area of Maitama to a parish in a
remote village like Yangoji in far away Kwali LGA,
just as there have been priests transferred from
Igu, also a very remote village in Bwari LGA, to
Our Lady Mother of Perpetual Help Parish,
Gwarinpa, and then to Our lady Queen of Nigeria
Pro-Cathedral, Garki, and so on and so forth. Are
you not aware of brother-priests who have been
transferred from the comfort of parishes in
Nigeria here to remote places even in war-torn
and less developed countries like Chad, Sudan,
Mali, Sierra-Leone, Burundi etc.
Some of them in areas so remote cars cannot
even get there nor is there electricity, yet, they
went in obedience and without noise. Fr, how is
yours supposed to be different?
You complained about the parish house you are
to occupy as being too small and by implication,
not comfortable for you. The question is, was it
not a brother-priest that just used and left there?
Are you saying that other priests can remain to
serve God’s people perpetually in a one room
self-contained apartment while you enjoy the
comfort of a gigantic parish house perpetually?
Fr, John the Baptist served God effectively in the
wilderness; all the apostles of our Lord Jesus
Christ left all the comfort of family and wealth
and followed willingly and without complaining,
the Son of Man who had no place to lay His
head. Fr, from which part of the scripture did you
get your reason for complaining?
To describe your transfer as a witch hunt is the
most uncharitable comment any priest can make
against his bishop especially in public. You are
not a Pentecostal pastor or a General Overseer
of any church, you are a priest of the Holy
Catholic and Apostolic Church. You own no
church and you own no parish. The gifts of the
Spirit (miracle, healing, prophecy etc) which God
has blessed you with are not the emphasis of
the Church. The Catholic Church places more
emphasis on the fruit of the Holy Spirit which is
what ultimately helps a man to make heaven: “…
Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out
demons in your name and performed many
miracles in your name. But I will reply, ‘I never
knew you. Get away from me, you who break
God’s laws’”. There is no ordained priest no
matter how gifted that has survived a
confrontation with the Church. They go quickly
into oblivion soon after while the Church waxes
stronger. Fr, be very careful!
You lamented about the assets of the Adoration
Ministry and where you were going to keep them
since your new parish is too small to contain
them. I understand your concern especially as I
am also aware of the enormity of the assets
being an archdiocesan official of the Catholic
Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria, Abuja, myself.
However, just like you admitted, you have “given”
the assets to the Catholic Church in Enugu. So, if
you have “given” the assets to the Catholic
Church, why not just hand them over to your
Bishop who knows how most appropriate to take
care of them. Why do you still cry over that
which you have “given” out? More so, you know
that as a Catholic priest, you own nothing! There
is no major asset even including a car that you
can own without the consent and blessing of
your bishop. This is how the Catholic Church is
structured. This is how the Catholic Church
works. So, those assets never belonged to you
ab initio, they have always belonged to the
Church. Just take an inventory of them and hand
them over to the appropriate authorities. They
know what to do with them.
One of the reasons why our priests are not
allowed to own anything of their own is so that
when the call of service comes and they are
asked to go anywhere at the shortest notice,
they would not have to look back at what they
would be leaving behind so that they do not drag
their feet on obeying the call to service. Lot’s
wife looked back and turned to a pillar of salt. Fr,
why are you looking back?
As I end this letter, let me remind you that your
gifts of the Holy Spirit do not come in isolation.
They come with enormous responsibility! Enough
of this ridicule you have subjected the Church to.
Focus your attention on your apostolic calling
and leave politics for politicians. If you are so
interested in joining politics and making your
mark there, you know the right thing to do. Stop
parading about like a colossus that the Church is
so badly in need of. No one man or group of men
can hold the Catholic Church to ransom. Even if
the Lord decides that you answer the eternal call
today, Enugu diocese will never fold up!
I pray that God will lead you aright in all your
endeavours.
